"Harry Potter" Star Bonnie Wright Welcomes Second Son, Reveals Magical Name "Aster Sky"

Ginny Weasley is a mom of two now. Bonnie Wright, the 35-year-old English actress who played Ginny in the Harry Potter film franchise, announced Saturday that she and husband Andrew Lococo recently welcomed their second child together — a baby boy with a name straight out of a storybook.

"Say hello to our son Aster Sky Wright Lococo, born at home on the 28th September, named after the star shaped flower," Wright wrote on Instagram to her 3.7 million followers. "Our little star has been showered in love by his big brother Elio."

A Star-Shaped Name

The name carries layers of meaning. Aster comes from the Greek word for "star," and the star-shaped aster flower is September's birth flower — the very month Aster was born. "Thank you universe for my loving bundle of boys!" Wright added, thanking her midwife and pregnancy guides for "guiding us through the birth portal."

Alongside the announcement, Wright shared sweet photos from the family's first days with the newborn: a selfie of Aster sleeping on her chest, Andrew pushing him in a stroller, and three-year-old Elio leaning into the pram to get a closer look at his little brother.

Big Brother Elio and a Home Birth

Aster joins big brother Elio Ocean, who was born in September 2023 — also delivered at home. Wright first revealed she was expecting her second child back in April, sharing a photo of Elio resting his head against her growing bump. "Two babies on my lap," she wrote at the time. "Our second little earthling joining us this autumn."

Wright and Lococo married in March 2022 after revealing their relationship on social media in 2020. The couple now raises their two boys in California.

Hogwarts Sends Its Love

It didn't take long for the congratulatory messages to pour in — including from Wright's former Harry Potter co-stars. Evanna Lynch, who played Luna Lovegood, wrote, "Congratulations Bonnie and Andrew!!! What a beautiful little guy and beautiful names." Scarlett Hefner added, "He is so beautiful," while Katie Leung, who played Cho Chang, said, "Huge congrats my love. What a lucky boy to have you as his mama. Rest up."

Wright was just nine years old when she made her professional acting debut in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, staying with the franchise through all eight films. Since then, she has carved her own path — founding the independent production company BonBonLumiere and working as an environmental activist with charities including Greenpeace and the Rainforest Alliance.

What's Next for the Family

For now, the family appears to be settling into life with a newborn — boardwalk stroller walks, big-brother introductions, and plenty of quiet moments at home. Given how openly Wright shared her second pregnancy journey, fans can likely expect more glimpses of life with Aster Sky and Elio in the months ahead. One thing is clear: the Wright-Lococo household just got a little more magical.
