It was one of Hollywood's most star-studded weddings of the year. Rob Lowe's eldest son, Matthew Lowe, married Emily Markus in a gorgeous ceremony in Santa Barbara, California — and the guest list read like a who's who of Tinseltown.

Gwyneth Paltrow Played Officiant

The couple said "I do" on Saturday in front of family, friends, and a jaw-dropping lineup of celebrity guests. Gwyneth Paltrow took on a special role at the ceremony, serving as the officiant. Matthew, 33, is the eldest of two sons shared by Rob Lowe and his wife of 35 years, Sheryl Berkoff. The couple's younger son, John Owen Lowe, 30, sat in the front row alongside his parents as his big brother tied the knot.

The joyful milestone comes less than two weeks after a devastating family loss. Fiona Lowe, the 13-year-old daughter of Rob's brother Chad Lowe, tragically passed away earlier this month.

In a statement at the time, the family shared: "We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona. She was a loving young girl who was smart, creative and loved to dance. She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives."

The family asked for prayers and privacy as they grieved the unimaginable loss — making Saturday's wedding a bittersweet moment of love for the Lowe family.

The celebration stretched across the whole weekend. Before the big day, Markus gave fans a sneak peek of the festivities on Instagram Stories, sharing a sunset photo of decorated tables and festive flags at local eatery Bluewater Grill with the caption: "It's wedding weekend eve!"
