Sean 'Diddy' Combs Moved to Smaller Federal Prison After Emergency Hospital Visit
Sean "Diddy" Combs has been transferred to a new federal prison following a dramatic hospital visit and weeks of turmoil behind bars, federal officials confirmed on Friday. The 56-year-old music mogul was moved from the Fort Dix federal correctional institution in New Jersey to Allenwood Low in neighboring Pennsylvania, marking another turbulent chapter in his life as an inmate.
A Bureau of Prisons spokeswoman confirmed the transfer to AFP on Friday, but declined to give any reason for the move. "For privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not discuss the conditions of confinement for any individual in our custody, including reasons for transfer," she said.
The Hospital Visit That Sparked the Move
The transfer came after US media reported that Combs was treated at a hospital for a head injury following a fight with another prisoner at Fort Dix over the weekend. The alleged brawl was the latest in a string of disturbing reports about his time at the New Jersey facility.
In September, NBC News reported that Combs was enjoying a surprisingly comfortable lifestyle at Fort Dix, with access to contraband cellphones and liquor. The outlet also claimed he had fellow inmates cooking and cleaning for him, and even someone giving him Chinese-style massages — reports that raised serious questions about special treatment inside the prison.
A Smaller, Tighter Facility
Both Fort Dix and Allenwood Low are low-security federal prisons for male offenders, but there is a major difference in scale. Allenwood Low houses roughly 1,000 inmates compared to about 4,000 at Fort Dix, meaning Combs will be in a significantly smaller and more controlled environment.
Whether the transfer was disciplinary, for his own safety, or purely administrative remains unclear. The Bureau of Prisons offered no further details, and Combs' representatives have not publicly commented on the move.
Why Combs Is Behind Bars
Combs was sentenced in 2025 after a headline-grabbing trial that laid bare shocking details of the alleged "freak-offs" he organized — sexual marathons involving hired male escorts, his ex-girlfriend Casandra Ventura, and another unidentified woman.
A jury acquitted him of the most serious charges against him, sex trafficking and racketeering, but convicted him on two counts of transporting people across state lines for prostitution. He is currently due to be released from prison in March 2028.
What's Next
Combs' prison saga has been followed intensely by the public, and this latest transfer is unlikely to be the end of the story. With more than a year left on his sentence, questions remain about whether he will face further disciplinary action over the reported contraband and fights at Fort Dix. For now, the man once worth nearly a billion dollars will continue his sentence in a much smaller Pennsylvania facility — far from the life of luxury he once knew.
